Dudes!!! I entered a writing contest with TokyoPop in July and they picked mine as the Grand Prize Winner!!! YA HA!!!

Oh my god I WON!!!! This is so awesome! I can't believe I won! I feel lightheaded...*lays down* ohmygodiwon.

As for what I won, it was the Tokyopop Bizenghast Writing Contest and I'm the Grand Prize Winner! Not runner-up, not honorable mention, Grand Prize Winner. Dude, maybe prop my feet up, or my head, so dizzy...
I entered it on July 18th, I know the exact date because it was the last day I could submit my entry, it was also the day I wrote it. I had, heh heh, kind of forgotten to write it earlier. They posted the winners today and I wouldn't have even remembered if I hadn't been going through my writings in my folders and saw the one labeled "Bizenghast Contest Entry". I hooked myself up to the internet and went to check it out. I thought I hadn't won because I hadn't received an email notification so I wasn't expecting anything, except maybe runner up. But as I scrolled down the page and saw the part that said "And The Winners Are..." My eyes bugged out of my head.

Grand Prize: ThePaper

I couldn't believe it! That was my username! I had won a writing contest! Four members of the Tokyopop staff picked my paper from the ten best entries as the best of the lot! Ohmygawd!!!! The know who I am now! This is the company I someday want to work with! They liked my paper! Wow!

Breathe. Breathe....

The paper I wrote was inspired by this idea I had running through my mind. It's about love, the greatest, most extreme kinds of love. The one that is a common thing to hear about, "love someone so much to die for them"; I thought about that and a thought came to mind that I couldn't let go of.



If a person can love someone so much that that person would die for them, could a person also love someone so much that they would live for them too?



So I set to work and created a character based solely around that idea. I gave him a background, a personal conflict, and a potential place in the Bizenghast world. Even his name is unique to him. I also rewrote several little bits of it, counting words and running lines through my head until the paper read as smooth as possible.

I'm so excited. As for my entry, I'm thinking about putting it up here. Temporarily. Or not. I'm not sure yet.
