The Courting Gifts

This is a piece I did a couple of weeks ago. I was watching Tenchi Universe and while I'm a fan of TenXRyo, y'know 'ra ra tenchi!' and all, I also happen to really like Kamidake (though that hair of his is something I simple can't resist snickering at) and I had a wild thought..what would Ryoko and Kamidake look like together?!?! My mind was all a jumble! I started working on clothes and color samples and sketching out their faces; it was something I couldn't get out of my head! Heck, I even wrote a fanfiction on it just to get the story down! This is what came of several hours of work, starting with drawing it by hand to redrawing it again (twice) and then putting it through the computer for refining and color and depth.

I like it and you can bite me if you think different! Long live Ryoko!

I designed their clothes based on the characters personal preferences, as Ryoko is fairly outrageous with hers and often chooses bright colors and those poofy sleeve thingies. As for Kamidake, I tried to keep him as close as possible to his recognizable image though I admit he does look really different here. I changed the front of his hair because really, who DOESN'T laugh when they see it. I just softened it and based it on how his hair seems to be curly, from what I could tell from his ponytail. His clothes changed too because I thought that, he HAS been asleep for many MANY generations, styles HAD to have changed since then so that gave me rational liscense to mess with his outfit.

As for the background, I was pretending it was Jurai. That thing on her wrist, it's what the title of this and the fanfic was based around.
